Innovative Approaches for Youth
Participation is organized for potential partners from cities in European
Countries. The project aims to support cooperation, networking and structured
dialogue between young people, those active in youth work and youth
organisations and those responsible for youth policy, and develop new ideas and
methods for youth inclusion and participation.
Activities of the Project
Planning and Preparation
Coordination Meeting in Birmingham. The meeting
will be 9th -10th March 2009. 1 youth leader from each
partners ll participate to the meeting (totaly 9 pax) . During this phase and
meeting, the partners will agree on the common theme of the Project. They are
going to reflect on division of tasks, Seminar programme, working methods,
profile of participants, practical arrangements (venue, transfers,
accommodations, support material, linguistic support) and web-site , brochures,
posters, sticers, notebooks, promotional items (t-shirts, caps, pens, etc.);
Implementation of the Activity (Seminar)
Transnational Seminar 16-22 May 2009 Osmangazi Turkey
the Seminar for New Methods in Youth Participation with youth, expert
and decision-makers. the Seminar is a 6-day seminar for young people aged
from 18 - 25 and for experts and decision-making actors in the field of youth
policy. The seminar is going to ask 3 questions “situation of youth
participation” “cooperation with policy makers” and “creative methods for youth
participation” . The venue of the Seminar is Bursa Osmangazi, Turkey.
Experts and decision-makers are going to be able to improve their understanding
of young peoples' opinions and needs. Vice-versa, young people were able to
better understand the dynamics of the decision-making processes having
consequences on their life, and they were able to influence, through commonly
agreed recommendations, decisions to be taken in the future. Every
partner will be represented by 1 youth leader, 5 young participants (from youth
council, NGOs or youth clubs ext..) , and 1 policy maker (politician or expert
officer) in the Seminar. There ll be totally 49 participants in the Seminar
from 7 different cities.The seminar ll be held on 16th and 22th
May 2009.
Evaluation (including reflection on a possible follow-up).
Closure Meeting in Rotterdam,
Nedherlands (need to be confirmed). Closure meeting is about the final
evaluation, and makes it possible to assess whether the objectives of the
project have been achieved and the expectations of the partners and
participants have been met. 1 youth leader from each partners ll participate to
the meeting. In this meeting it is discussed about the process of meeting,
outcomes of the Seminar and follow-up of the project. The meeting ll be held on
June 2009 in a partner city of the project.
